Olin College of Engineering offers prospective students the opportunity to attend the MIX & Mingle Fly-In in November 2024. The Office of Admission and Financial Aid partners with Olin’s The MIX (The Multicultural Innovator eXperience) to provide an engaging and comprehensive visit to Olin.
We invite counselors to nominate high school seniors with strong potential for Olin's collaborative, project-based engineering curriculum and for whom the cost of travel to visit campus may be prohibitive. In support of Olin’s desire to reduce inequity both within and through engineering education, we seek to create a community where all students can pursue an engineering education while bringing and celebrating the multiple aspects of their identities. Therefore, we seek students who are excited about Olin's mission and wish to contribute to and help create a diverse community.
The dates for this year's Olin MIX & Mingle Fly-In program are November 10-11, 2024. For students in which traveling to Olin may cause a financial hardship to their family, we will be covering all costs of transportation for the visit.
Due to the small number of Olin student hosts available, our Fly-In program is limited to high school seniors and students who for other reasons are planning to enter college in Fall 2025. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate nominations for international students at this time.
This form must be submitted by Wednesday, September 18, 2024, by a school counselor, teacher, or other administrator, to nominate a student for the Fly-In.
After this form is submitted, there are a few action items in order for students to be fully considered for nomination:
Step 1: In the nomination form you must upload a copy (official or unofficial) of the student's transcript (including performance through the end of their junior year). If you do not have access to their transcript at this time, please be sure to send us the transcript by Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
Step 2: You may also submit test scores, however test scores are optional, and not a requirement for consideration for this program.
Step 3: The nominated student will be prompted (by email) to complete an additional form to express their interest in visiting Olin. The student's Olin MIX & Mingle Student Interest Form must be completedby Wednesday, September 25, 2024, in order for the student to be considered for the MIX & Mingle Fly-In.
Step 4: Once all forms are submitted, an Olin admission counselor will review the information and contact the student to confirm their participation and make arrangements for their visit to Olin.
Please contact Jenna Green at jgreen@olin.edu with any questions.
